Paint Protection Film, or PPF, is the most effective way to protect your car from stone chips, scratches, minor impacts, and road debris. A thick, clear film applied directly to the paint that takes the hits so your paint does not have to. At Le Mans Detailing in Markham, our installers have over 12 combined years of experience working on some of the most complex and valuable cars in Canada.
Whether you own a classic or new car, swirl marks and
scratches completely diminish the true beauty of your car.
Even the smallest, faintest surface scratches need to be
removed to appreciate the color and depth of your paint.
At Le Mans Detailing, we have a team of highly experienced
paint correction experts that are trained to safely remove the
top layer of damaged paint to reveal the deep rich gloss we
are all looking for.

They do different things.
PPF protects against physical impact, stone chips, scratches, road debris.
Ceramic coating protects against the elements, UV exposure, water spots, chemical contamination, and makes the car significantly easier to maintain. Water beads off, the car stays cleaner between washes, and the colour pops.
For complete protection, we recommend pairing both. The ceramic coating goes over the PPF, so the film gets the same hydrophobic benefits as the paint. You get impact protection on the high-risk panels and a coating across the whole car. It is the most complete package we offer and the one most of our serious enthusiast clients choose.
A great paint protection film installation comes down to three things: the installer, the pattern, and the environment. No glue lines, no stretch marks, no dust. If you can see two or more dust inclusions in an area the size of a toonie, that is not an acceptable job.
Every edge that can be tucked behind a panel should be tucked. Where tucking is not possible, the cut should run parallel to the body line and expose the absolute minimum amount of paint. Run your finger along any edge — you should feel the film, never the paint underneath.
The installer matters most. Experience is not just time on the job. It is working across different manufacturers, different body lines, different levels of complexity. Understanding how the film stretches, how the adhesive behaves, how far you can push the material before it fails.
The pattern choice — bulk or kit — determines how edges are handled. A well-executed bulk install hides all the edges behind the panels. A kit install aligns to the panel edges and requires the installer to align everything precisely.
The environment is the last piece. Temperature and humidity controlled, clean, and well lit. Film installed in the wrong conditions will lift. Dust in the environment ends up under the film permanently.
Check out the video of the G63 posted here. There are no visible edges along the edges of the panels or near the trim, everything is tucked and invisible. Aesthetically, this is amazing, but more importantly there is no chance the PPF will peel up or collect dirt in the future. Secondly, with out installation standards, there is no visible dust either.
Yes, we do!
Our PPF comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in the film itself.
On top of that, we offer a 2-year installation guarantee. Any lifting or peeling, any dirt that gets under the edges — we clean it out, trim it, or replace it. If the film gets damaged, we replace it free of charge.
The goal is that your PPF looks exactly as it should for as long as you own the car.
PPF goes on using a wet application method. Before anything touches the paint, the surface is thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. A soapy solution is applied to both the paint and the film to keep them from bonding prematurely. Once the panel is aligned, the film is stretched into position and an alcohol solution is sprayed underneath to activate the adhesive. The water and soap are squeegeed out completely, and then the edges are tucked and heated behind the panels. The result is a finish that is completely invisible — you would not know the film is there.
t depends on the vehicle and what the customer is comfortable with. In most cases, removing panels and trim is what allows us to tuck the edges properly and guarantee the film will not lift. If you are not comfortable having panels removed, we will work around that. But wherever tucking is possible, we will always recommend it — it is what makes the difference between an install that holds for years and one that starts lifting at the edges.

Not always.
If your car has significant swirl marks or scratches, we recommend correcting the paint first. PPF applied over uncorrected paint seals those imperfections in permanently, there is no fixing it afterward without removing the film entirely.
For brand new cars or vehicles with only light surface marks, paint correction before PPF is the customer's call. PPF does an amazing job of hiding light swirl marks and scratches. We look at the paint first and give you an honest recommendation either way.
Our PPF carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty.
With proper care, regular washing, avoiding abrasive products, and staying out of automatic car washes, the film will hold its clarity and protection for the full warranty period. Most of our clients keep their PPF well beyond that. The film does its job quietly in the background. You stop thinking about stone chips and start just enjoying the car.
Yes, and this is one of its biggest advantages.
PPF can be removed cleanly without damaging the paint underneath, as long as the paint was in good condition when the film went on. It is completely reversible. If you ever sell the car, change your mind, or want to upgrade to a newer film, the existing film comes off and the original paint is right there underneath it — protected the entire time.
